We offer bulk-billed standard GP consultations to Medicare-eligible patients with valid Medicare details.
Bulk Billing
We are pleased to offer bulk billed GP consultations for patients with a valid Medicare card, making quality healthcare more accessible for our community.
Most standard GP consultations are bulk billed. However, some appointment types and services may incur a fee.
Bulk billing at Kelvin Grove Medical Centre does not guarantee that external providers, including pathology, radiology, specialists or allied health providers, will bulk bill their services. Please confirm any fees directly with the relevant provider.
Patients Without Medicare Eligibility
Bulk billing is available for eligible consultations provided to patients with current Medicare eligibility and valid Medicare details.
Patients who are not eligible for Medicare, including many international students, temporary visa holders and overseas visitors, will be charged a private consultation fee.

Full payment is required on the day of your appointment. Medicare rebates are not available for patients who are not eligible for Medicare.
Patients with Overseas Student Health Cover, Overseas Visitor Health Cover or travel insurance may be able to claim some of the consultation cost through their insurer. We can provide an itemised receipt; however, reimbursement and out-of-pocket costs will depend on your individual policy. Please contact your insurer before your appointment to confirm your cover.
Some overseas visitors may qualify for Medicare under a Reciprocal Health Care Agreement. Please provide your current Medicare details when booking.
Additional fees may apply for procedures, specialised services, medical reports, vaccines and other services not covered by standard consultation billing. Please speak with our team for further information.
Cancellation Policy
Please note we require a minimum of 2-hours' notice prior to your appointment to cancel the appointment, otherwise a fee of $50.00 applies for "did not attend" or late cancellations. An appointment is also marked as "did not attend" if you are more than 5 minutes late to your appointment time. A minimum of 2-hours' notice allows us to offer that appointment to someone else who is on our waiting list or needs to see a doctor on the day.
Telehealth Consultations
Telephone consultations follow the same billing policy as face-to-face consultations. Medicare-eligible patients who meet current MBS telehealth requirements may be bulk billed. Patients who do not meet Medicare telehealth requirements, or who are not eligible for Medicare, will be charged the applicable private consultation fee. Please contact our team to confirm your eligibility and any fees before booking.
Please note that certain procedures, such as iron infusions, may require a pre-consultation in addition to a longer consultation for the procedure. Please speak with our receptionists before booking any procedure related consultations.
